Guess Who!?

I am Ashley Marie, the wife of Brett Hill, and we have 3 strapping young boys we call, "Son." We are mismatched victims of fate, a blessing that has brought us all together. Our story is an American one and the details are thrilling!

This summer we have decided to put all of our eggs in one basket labelled 'Farm'. God willing and the creek don't rise our dreams of being able to live comfortably together at home will come to be true. We live like gypsy's picking up odd jobs for the money we have to spend but are determined to be free of consumerism as soon as we possibly can be. However, I have no interest in learning to make my own lard. But I do think it would be pretty cool to trade the grass fed beef in my backyard for a tub of it someone else made. That's how it used to be, ya know.

We share our lives with Brett's father and local legend, Verner Hill. Without him we would hardly have had the opportunity or have been able to get this far along so quickly. 72 years of expertise has yet to fail us. He is by far our most valuable resource. Besides, I grew up getting plenty of advice and know better than to turn it down.

I'm writing to make note of our progress and stay on track with our goals. I'm blogging to make connections and friends to keep me informed with trends and know-how. I'm sharing it with you because I think life is not like anything anyone expects and there has to be more of you out there making some pretty bad ass lemonade, too.
